Horses in need

Community support rallying around those affected by the current flood situation is great to see. The extent of the devastation is unbelievable, and there have been too many sad stories already. Here are some links to hopefully help connect people in need with the assistance they require:

The RSPCA are working hard to rescue horses and other animals caught up in the floods. Reports are that they are trying to save horses swimming in flood waters. You can support them from wherever you are in Australia, and even the USA and Canada by donating to their flood appeal – https://donate.rspcaqld.org.au/flood

The group SE Qld Horse Rescue for Flood Victims has been rallying supporters together. People are posting offers of help, listing people who need help, and Lynette Sutton from Hoofs2010 is organising help from NSW and posting information in this group. The posts on their wall move very fast (if you join be prepared for lots of notification emails – or click on “Edit Settings” in the top right hand of the screen to turn off emails and notifications).
