Art House Reproductions & Inkjet Lab would be happy to try to save your precious memories by cleaning and scanning them to create a digital file which we will then put on disk for you. We will do this at no charge. Photos that have become wet and dirty as a result of the floods should be kept wet in clean fresh water - this is important, otherwise they will stick together as they dry and then cannot be saved. Many photos can be saved simply by washing and spreading them out on a tablecloth to dry. Get them to us as soon as possible. We are open normal business hours Monday to Friday but you can contact Mark directly on his mobile - 0421 599 423 - to arrange for deliveries at other times. We don't know how many people will take up this offer and the potential is for thousands of prints to come in. We will do our best to save what we can so that at some point down the road, you can reprint your family photos. IMPORTANT NOTE - To allow us to help as many people as possible, please do the following... Pick out your most important 50 photos before you come in and we will concentrate on these first. Choose family, wedding and pet photos - not travel pics and happy snaps. Remove photos from frames as soon as possible so they don't stick to the glass. Please do not bring in frames if possible. Rinse everything in clean fresh water and place the photos in sealed plastic bags so they don't dry out and stick together. This does several things, first it reduces the risk of disease and secondly, it make our job a little easier. Ring us on 0421 599 423 to arrange a time to deliver them. Please note that we will only be scanning flood damaged photos and saving them to disk. We cannot do any restoration work such as digital retouching because of the sheer number of images involved here and it is very time consuming work. Time is of the essence here if we are to save the basic image. Restoration and printing your photos can happen some time down the road. We have already had volunteers to help us handle this task.
