is information on accommodation getting through?

Hi, can anyone please tell us if, and how many offers of accommodation are getting through, and how many people/families have bn placed in new temp homes? Many of the volunteers are quite worried, because they are not being contacted. Thanks, Stephanie.
Will be checking for reply posts or email sbowm4@gmail.com

I have registered om several sites offering accommodaiton, and have yet to receive any responses. How do we get to the right place for the offers to be seen by those really needing help?

have you tried also, ozfloodhelp.org? i'm registered on there too, suppose to be very good.

I've found it too difficult to fill out the form - the questions seem to be all over the page but I cant seem to find the 'spaces' to fill in the details of the 1 bed accommodation I can offer - all too hard!!!

I know it's a fair way out of the city (Wellington Pt.), but listed 2 rooms available several days ago & no response. Concerned that the site is not easy for flood victims to find these offers. I too, found it extremely difficult to fill in the form - it has half the page hidden & so after many attempts, discovered how to set it up. 2 QS beds avail for up to about 18th Feb (maybe a week more). Prefer adults and/or one child only in teens. Not a home for a young family, but would suit older people, as lowset.

yes these concerns are sounding very similar to many i have already heard

I have provided by details directly to evacuation centres and called other organisations and have found it all very frustrating. I too am concerned that many flood victims are not being able to access the available offers. My family have available room for a small family (2 adults and 2 children).

i know it is frustrating that this particular service is not working as smoothly as we had hoped, but there are many other ways to help too. there are services offering rebuild help, on facebook, (Rebuild Help for Flood Victims) containing articles on where to start with rebuilding, electrical and structural etc- there are groups collecting school supplies for kids who lost all theirs in the floods, (Backpacks and school supplies for children of the floods(on facebook) and (school supplies for qld flooded families, on facebook) these are doing a great job, both based in greater Briz, but there is also the Hannah foundation, based in the centre of the Lockyer Valley. There are also other accommodation sites on facebook, (queensland floods temporary accommodation help), (contact queensland floods billet offers) and also the one i mentioned above, ozflood help.org. these are just the ones i know. if you have heard of any others, please post them up here. the more places we put our information up at, the more chance we have of helping these people

oh, also, someone passed on to me, call this number to OFFER accomodation to flood victims 1300 998 603- advertised on ABC radio queensland.

... I found two required fields aren't showing up, so can't complete the form

I cannot find where to add the details "required". The form is very hard to use cf the Get Up site. How are those needing accomm going to navigate this? I suspect that they don't have access to internet (I did not when I was flooded as no power or Internet). is that why people are not getting responses? maybe a list at Evacuation Centres with a coordinator to initially match people or put us in contact.

no offense meant, but your welcome to try to get this up and running, we've been trying to do this same sort of thing for weeks. emails, letters, lists, councils, newspapers, news programmes, evac and emergency centres. its just not getting through as much and as well as we would like. a few people have already tried going straight to evac centres, but can only do so much.

Hi everybody who has commented on this post
As you can imagine having such a huge response has meant an incredible requirement for volunteers to assist on this site.
to answer the questions above quickly. over 1000 people have added 5000 beds. So the form while a little complicated because of the amount of details required is able to be used by most.
In regards to matching we have a call centre that is taking calls as handed out by government departments, evacuation centres and other agencies - eg SES.
They are doing the matching process for people who as mentioned often dont have access to the internet
We have a number of people who have been matched and many more in the process. there are also people who have used the site to match themselves.
Thanks for your concern.
