Photographs

Hi
Don't know what to say to you guys - what can you say?
I'm a Victorian photographer with some skill in restoring photos - and while I'm sure for many people photos are the last thought - for some they may be important.
If you have flood damaged photos you really treasure I'll try to restore them for you for free (but I am a one man band so my capacity is limited - please contact me before sending your photos and I'll tell you if I can cope with them and give you a time frame for delivery of restorations). Emailed digital restorations will be provided unless otherwise agreed.
Please don't ask me to restore your picture of your prize cow or tractor (well - unless you want to pay commercial rates ($220 per hour)), but if you have treasured family photos that have been damaged in the Queensland, Tasmanian or Victorian floods I'm happy to do what I can to try to restore them for free.
I need to point out that photo restoration - and the quality of the result - is dependent on the state of the original - and for flood damaged originals the outcome is uncertain. The free restoration service I offer is a gift to the affected communities and while all efforts will be made to produce a quality restoration no responsibility is accepted for the quality of the final result. If the quality of the restored image is critical for any purpose you should seek the services of a professional restoration service and obtain an opinion of their assessment of the likelihood of a successful restoration. We offer such a service at a rate of $220 per hour and would be happy to assess and quote your commercial restoration needs.
I'd prefer you contacted me by email on jataylor@ozemail.com.au - but if that's unworkable please call me on 0419 307 470. My address to send damaged photos to is James Taylor at PO Box 650 Balwyn North Vic 3104. Please make sure any photos you send me have a clear return address and a telephone number to contact the sender.
I wish all those affected by the floods all the best - I know my offer of assistance is small - but I'm offering what I can. Hope it all works out for you all!
James
